Jenna Fischer is in NY this week attending the Tribeca Film Festival where her collaboration with her husband, Lee Kirk, premiered. It’s an Independent Film entitled The Giant Mechanical Man. In this interview with Today Show Hosts Hoda Kotb and Willie Geist this morning, Jenna discusses the future of The Office as well as her new film. There’s also a ten second clip from tonight’s new episode, entitled Fundraising:

Here she is on the Plaza with Matt Lauer and the rest of the Today Show team discussing more of the same and receiving a gift from NBC:

Here still is the official trailer for her film, The Giant Mechanical Man co-starring Malin Ackerman, Topher Grace and Chris Messina. This movie was filmed in my home town of Detroit and many scenes take place at the Detroit Zoo where Jenna’s character Janice and her love interest, Tim (Chris Messina) are employed. The Zoo is located a mile from my parent’s house and I spent quite a bit of time there when I was growing up. The Detroit Zoo is also a popular pass time for me and my family whenever we go back to visit. I was easily able to identify the giant Bear and Lion fountain, the famous Penguin house and Polar Bear exhibit; I also noticed the part of the front gate.

The zoo is open all year round and it seems like this movie was filmed in the middle of a cold winter. I wish I would have known about the filming at the time. I would have made it a point to go visit my folks and maybe try my luck at meeting the lovely Jenna (plus my parents are members so it doesn’t cost me anything to get into the zoo with my kids; added bonus ;) ).

JKras on Sesame Street

You know you’ve finally arrived as a celebrity when they ask you to guest star on the longest running children’s television show in history.  John Krasinski, along with the help of Murry the Monster, helped explain to the meaning of the word ‘Soggy’ to children everywhere.  Of course, hilarity ensued.

As a mother of toddlers, I frequently watch Sesame Street and encourage my kids to learn their ABC’s and 123′s from those adorable characters I grew up with  and loved as well.  I always enjoy seeing the celebrity guests, many of whom are parents themselves, that come on to help out those lovable muppets.  Perhaps this means that there is a bundle of joy on the way for John and his wife Emily Blunt.  (I’m not really one to start rumors though, especially because of our extensive readership; this one could spread like wild fire. :) )

Now all that’s left for JKras to do is host SNL and his career will be complete. (Praying to the SNL Gods to make that happen.  I’m sure Loren Michaels is reading this blog.  Now you see what world I’m living in; clearly not the real one.)

Enjoy!

I meant to post this yesterday as a reminder to tune in to The Tonight Show last night as our very own Jim Halpert was a guest on Conan O’Brain’s couch. Although not in character, we were treated to some very funny Jim faces as well as a unique Marrionette impression, which I believe should be added to John Krasinski’s resume as one of his many talents. We also get a sneak peak at his new movie It’s Complicated opening next Friday. In case you missed it, here are the clips.

Enjoy ~

Leslie David Baker, who plays Office grump Stanley, celebrated his 50th birthday yesterday! Happy Birthday Leslie from all your fans over at LITO!    ~Donna

Mindy Ephron (Kelly Kapoor) is not only an actor but one of the shows writers and producers. She has a great blog that I love to read. I feel like I get a small taste of what the good life is… ;)

Anyways, you may have already seen the video that we posted on the writers dealing with the strike. Mindy has written an article for her blog explaining her stance.

Anyway, I’ve hesitated writing about the strike, because while I believe passionately that we striking for a good reason, I didn’t want to incur the contempt of non-writers or fans of the show.

Why? It’s simple. I may be the single worst person on this planet who could speak out for the writers plight, because: 1) I am an adult who is lucky enough to have enough disposable income that I literally have a website talking about how I fritter away money on stupid shit. I’m doing fine. and 2) I’m a comedy writer, not a politician or even a person known to make persuasive arguments. I’ve solved most of my conflicts by crying or threatening to kill myself. Opponents of the strike could point to this URL as the reason why writers are the worst form of overpaid greedbags, the way al Qaeda shows “The Anna Nicole Show” to recruit people to suicide bomb Western places.

Check out the Dan In Real Life trailer here. Thanks to thndrjames for the tip! Steve’s new movie will be out in October 2007-I had no idea it was coming out that soon! I’m excited :-)

I also need to say, I got one of my roommates hooked on “The Office” and it’s such a satisfying feeling to sit here in the living room and hear voices wafting in from her room…”from himself. From the future.”

I also wanted to let you all know that I’m not going to be writing for LITO much longer. I’m a brand-new special education teacher, and as much as I love LITO, I need to focus my time and energy on my students and my class right now. I’d like to thank everyone for being so incredibly awesome (“Office” fans are seriously the best!) and helping me out so much. I’m sorry I’m not going to stick around longer, but I’m very excited for the future of LITO – a podcast in the near future (hopefully–still taking volunteers, especially if you are able to record and/or edit the podcasting festivities), and Office PsychProfiles, which we’ll be starting up this week! Brian Stucki started a wonderful thing with this website, and I was lucky to be a part of it, just for a few months. Right now, my class needs me. But I am positive the next writer will do incredible things just like Brian did! So really, if you think about it, it is a total win-win-win situation :-)

1. Chat with Angela Kinsey tonight at 6 PM PST/9 PM EST at TheOfficeChat.com.

2. Any Chicago LITO-ites out there? If so, read on about Kate Flannery’s upcoming appearances (July 27 and 28) in the Windy City.

3. The TV addict has an awesome interview with Ed Helms.

4. Further proof of how adorable Jenna Fischer is:

Man…I am so excited. I just can’t tell you what this means to me. Not because it is an award or something like that. But because it feels like it is for our gal Pam. She’s a shy girl who doesn’t get recognized very often you know. It’s like…that shot from the episode with the Art Show where Pam is standing in front of her display waiting for the first visitor to come by…that just sums it all up for me. So, I guess I feel it in that part of me that is Pam. The part that still gets excited to show my art and hopes people are responding to it. It’s like…Hey, people showed up to my art show!

Read the rest of her Emmy noms blog here and be sure to check out her other recent posts.

5. I’ve been getting a lot of e-mails about the release date of the Season 3 DVD: September 4, 2007. You can get all the details at Amazon. Looks like the Prison Mike bandanna didn’t make the cover after all–they’ve posted a new cover that is the same shot, minus the Prison-Mike-ness.

6. Remember to vote for this week’s Throwback Thursday!

In the last few days, there’s been a virtual EXPLOSION of Office news! A plethora of interviews, inside scoops, features, & more on every media source imagineable. Here’s the deal:

1. E!’s Kristin Veitch gives us the scoop on the comedies of NBC’s Thursday night lineup. Warning: A few minor spoilers, in terms of who we may or may not see next season!

2. MSNBC also covers the powerhouse Thursday night sched.

3. Everyone is abuzz with Office Emmy predictions! I don’t want to jinx anything, but signs point towards good things for Dunder-Mifflin. Zap2it reports that site voters overwhelmingly want an “Office” win. Jenna, Steve, Rainn, & John are all heavy contenders in their respective races!

4. iF interviewed Greg Daniels and found out that Joss Whedon will direct another episode in Season 4!

5. World Screen has more details on the upcoming Office 360.

6. TV Week confirms what we knew all along: “The Office” is one of the best shows on TV.

7. OfficeTally has compiled this week’s appearances/office-related events.

8. Do you love pretzel day? Me too.

Pretzels

“The Office” is among the top 10 comedies being considered for Emmy nomination. No word yet on potential acting noms, but GoldDerby has got you covered if you want to check out the latest news.

On an unrelated note, I just saw this cute article about JK: From fan to star in 18 years.

It seems that Office stars are everywhere you look, and I LOVE IT!
Edit: This post quickly escalated from a short, low-risk post to a monstrous threat level midnight so…Here we go! Buckle up, it’s going to be a bumpy one!

1. Steve Carell on Regis & Kelly (06.19.07) Part 1 Part 2

2. John Krasinski interview on the Today Show (Mandy Moore, too)!

3. Funny red-carpet video from “Evan Almighty” premiere (lots of “Office” stars)

4. In-depth, meaty interview with Ken Kwapis at MoviesOnline

5. Craig Robinson, BJ Novak, and Steve Carell are all being recognized for their different and funny cameos in “Knocked Up”

6. John Krasinski on Conan AND David Letterman Thursday night. More things to look forward to on Thursday: THREE episodes of “The Office” on NBC and of course, LITO’s own Throwback Thursday, of course!

7. Steve Carell EVERYWHERE! I looooove it! LITO readers, take your pick: MSNBC or The Boston Herald or JoBlo.com. Or pretty much any other news outlet!

8. “The Office” – coming soon to an arcade near you? Variety details a recent deal between gamemaker MumboJumbo. The company says it plans to turn “The Office” into a casual game that allows players to handle jobs and play pranks at Dunder-Mifflin. Even better, the game will be available to play on handheld systems and PCs – the article suggests it may be available on NBC.com! Sounds FABULOUS!

9. Mini-Crossover: Though we may not have seen him much, Jan’s assistant Hunter holds a special place in our hearts. Now he’s going to play the cheerleader’s boyfriend on Heroes! I don’t watch that show, but hear good things…and let’s face it, Hunter is a hottie…

10. Scranton = hot spot? In the Cleveland Plain Dealer!
