Jenna has posted her first blog post since her injury. Read an excerpt below and check out the whole thing, complete with fun pictures of supporting cast members, her husband, and various friends at her Myspace page.

I wanted to write and thank you all for your Get Well wishes. I am at home in Los Angeles now. I’m doing very well. Your prayers and good thoughts must be working because the doctor said my back is healing great. I am not in too much pain anymore so that is good. I’m still a little creaky. I can drive – but only short distances. And, I can’t quite tie my shoes yet. I get sore and have to rest in the middle of the day. It hurts if you touch it. But, I can sit comfortably for the most part. I can eat in restaurants and I made it to Bed Bath and Beyond last week. So, I’m happy.

My elbow is another story. (I also tore a ligament in my elbow during the fall and it is not doing so great.) It is still very tender. I’m hoping for some good news next week when I see a specialist.

Jenna also writes about the huge outpouring of support to Rover Rescue–over $2,000 donations in her name to date! She ends the entry talking about how excited she is to get back to work. We’re excited, too!

“The Office” Webisodes WON the Daytime Emmy for Best Broadband Comedy! NBC has posted the video of Angela, Brian, and Oscar accepting the award! Check out an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview with Brian.

If you haven’t seen the Webisodes yet, you definitely need to watch them now! They helped me through last year’s long, painful wait to see the resolution of Casino Night, and NBC has them all at the website. Watching all 10 webisodes takes about the same time as a regular episode. Here’s #5 at Youtube:

Now let’s just hope the Primetime Emmy’s go the same way, with “The Office” victorious!

Thanks to Andrea of Warner Brothers for sending LITO this info! The Morning Show with Mike & Juliet and Warner Brothers are holding a competition in honor of the upcoming “License to Wed,” starring John Krasinski (with appearances by various other “Office” cast members!) and the grand prize is…

drumroll, please…

An all-inclusive* trip to Sandals, Jamaica!!

Get the skinny here.

*You know what that means?

Diane Kristine interviewed Greg Daniels at the Banff World Television Festival. His comments below perfectly sum up my own feelings on “The Office” rom-com.

There’s a lot of different layers and tones in the show, with the Jim and Pam romance, and the crazy boss, and all that. It must be hard to mesh that all into one.

It is hard, but I think it’s good. I think different people are interested in different aspects. Some areas of the web that are so Jim and Pam centred that they don’t even mention Steve (Carell), and there’s others that say “enough already with the romance, we want more comedy.” So we need to balance the different aspects. Which is why sometimes I get irritated by the promos, because sometimes they have a strategy. They’ll decide to hit the Jim and Pam romance, and it looks like there isn’t a lot of humour in the episode when they pull out the violins for the promos. All the episodes have about the same proportion but it’s mostly humour. And the romance is in there too but I think the romance is less effective when it’s more than half of the screen time.

Read the full interview here. JAM! Showbiz also has an article about Daniels and “The Office,” mentioning the perplexing viewer situation–tons of passionate, involved fans, critical acclaim, but nowhere near the mass of viewers of other top comedies. Tuesday’s Variety also addresses the viewing issue, asking why audiences don’t flock to ‘smart’ comedies like “The Office”.

Completely random: Did you know that there is a namesake for Jim Halpert? I had no clue. Read. Be astonished.

I am reeling!

A possible SPIN-OFF for Dwight? As much as I love Rainn Wilson, I don’t think I’m ready for him to leave Scranton. I wasn’t ready then, and I’m not ready now. This is all VERY new buzz, so what I’m hoping is that the deal allows for Dwight to remain on “The Office” until it ends its run, THEN the spin-off can air.

Dwight

Brian Howard of Remote Access brings up another good point.

“[The article] references Frasier and Cheers. That’s fine, but for every Frasier, there’s a Joanie Loves Chachi. And for every Mork and Mindy, there’s an After-MASH.”

But in all seriousness, I’d totally watch that show. I LOVE Dwigt…er, Dwight!

Sarah Smith of TheOfficeChat writes:

TOC will be doing another cast chat with Kevin Malone/ Brian on Monday June 18th at 6 pst/9 est. People can submit thier questions to me at sarah@theofficehchat.com. I will be announcing more cast chats as the summer goes along :)

How cool!! Thanks, Sarah!

P.S. MAJOR SHOUTOUT to Joss for pointing out that I have been spelling Steve’s last name wrong, pretty much ever since I took over the site. WOW. I sincerely apologize. I can’t tell you enough how much typos drive me crazy, and I honestly must have had a major mental block. I’ve seen “Carell” so many times in print and on the web, and yet somehow, kept adding an extra ‘r’. Sorry, everyone! From now on I’ll stick to the single ‘r’ :-)

Lots and lots of recent Steve Carrell sightings!

If you submit a question, it may be selected by People and Steve will answer it!

Read about Steve in Montreal, filming “Get Smart” here.

And don’t forget to check out IESB.net for pictures of the “Evan Almighty” premiere. Looks like tons of Office cast members showed up in style to support Steve!

Finally, regularly check Steve Almighty at dotcomedy. They post new video content each day, up through June 22. They call it “More Carrell Than You Can Handle!”

I say, bring it on!! What a talented, kind guy. Steve Almighty!

1.  There’s a cool two-page sightseeing feature (“Office”-style) in Happenings magazine, set in Scranton, PA!  Click here to view the full spread, which includes various Scranton hotspots mentioned on the show.  And the love between “The Office” and Happenings (a Pennsylvanian publication) goes both ways: according to the article, a blown-up cover of a 2000 issue can be seen on the side of the refrigerator in the Dunder-Mifflin Scranton break room.

2. Thanks to Alisa for this tip: teamsugar has an entry with the ‘this man is a pervert’ poster and a tip to call the hotline (1-800-984-3672).  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again–you should definitely call it for a good laugh!

3. Though the Primetime Emmy nominations won’t be announced until July, “The Office” has already garnered a Daytime Emmy nomination for the webisodes!  Last summer’s 10-part saga has been nominated in the new Broadband Comedy category.  There are four new categories this year for broadband work, and all awards will be presented on June 14.  Read more here.  Three cheers for our three favorite accountants!

Also, just wanted to let you know that in case I am a bit slow to post or respond in the next week or so, PLEASE keep leaving comments here, posting in the forums, and emailing me.  I’m in the process of moving from Pittsburgh to Hawai’i (and training for my new job in Houston for a while, too).  Hopefully, there won’t be any problems and you won’t even notice! But I wanted to give you a heads up just in case, and let you know that LITO is not going anywhere :-P

Thanks to everyone for the emails, comments, & posts–keep ‘em coming!

Here is a clip from Human Giant on MTV of an interview with some of my favorite people from some of my favorite TV shows: John Krasinski, along with Will Arnett and Michael Cera of the late “Arrested Development.”

John doesn’t really talk about “The Office” at all, but I wanted to post this because I caught a few Jim-like mannerisms. It reminded me of something BJ Novak said in an old interview with the Boston Globe:

”He was the same natural he was in high school,” he says. ”You can’t tell he’s acting. I’m actually convinced that he doesn’t really know how to act.”

It’s one of my favorite characteristics of “The Office” – it feels so natural.

NBC reports,

* On Thursday, the one-hour season finale of “The Office” was #1 in the time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demographics. “The Office” scored NBC’s highest 18-49 rating and largest total viewership in the time period in 12 weeks. In the valuable demographic of adults 18-34, “The Office” topped its nearest competitor, ABC’s “Ugly Betty,” by a 38 percent margin of victory.

The full press release also notes that “The Office” is the ‘most upscale series in primetime.’ This means that of households with incomes of $100,000 and higher, “The Office” brings in the highest concentration of adult viewers (adults aged 18-49 are counted).

More good news for “The Office”: according to today’s Google blog, Creed Thoughts is ON FIRE. On May 17, the night of the finale, ‘creed thoughts’ was #7, ‘the office season finale’ was #17, and ‘melora hardin’ was #19. These aren’t simply the top searches, but terms with the biggest change in number of searches. I’m guessing that Creed Thoughts was the highest because before the finale aired, no one was searching for that combo. However, I’m sure there were lots of previous searches for Melora Hardin. I’d bet the reason she’s the only one of the actors to appear in the Trends list because people were Googling Melora were trying to find out if she’d, erm, upgraded in real life as well. Thanks for the tip, Eliezer!!
