I'm kind of scratching my head over them submitting The Coup as well. I would think if anything, Traveling Salesman would've been a better choice because it really highlights the entire cast, whereas The Coup is more a Dwight/Michael episode.

I think Grief Counseling was a good choice for Jenna- she has a lot of great moments in that episode: messing with Michael in the cold open, the break-room scene where she talks about her aunt- an amazing female boxer, and organizing the bird funeral. I'm a little surprised that John (or his people) would submit "Business School" for him- I couldn't even remember what he actually did in that episode until I looked it up (the vampire prank). I would think The Convention would've been a better choice for him.

Haha, but what do I know? I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for everyone! Very Happy

I actually think that the Michael/Dwight highlighting is a positive aspect to Emmy voters. While we all know and LOVE the minor characters, it can be pretty confusing and not quite as funny to get to know soooo many characters in one episode. Instead, focusing on the crazy antics of Dwight and Michael may be a better tactic, since they alone provide lots of laughs.

Oh that's a good point too. I guess I was just thinking along the lines that Dwight can be kind of a deal-breaker character- a lot of people like him but a lot of people can't stand him either. I think it was TV Guide, I can't remember which writer (Ausiello?), was saying how much he hated Dwight and that seemed to bias his opinion of the show, so if an Emmy voter wasn't too fond of him an episode focused solely on his antics might not fare as well. But I guess you could make the same argument for the ensemble episodes as well!

Those are some good changes, I like the noms for Ed Helms for the return, and BJ Novak for Business School. Paul had a lot of screen time in The Negotiation so, oughta be nominated for that. The rest of the noms are pretty good too, try to give the character as much screen time as possible. I feel bad for Kate Flannery though, in the ep she's nominated for she has abouut the same amount of screen time as other characters get each week! Oh well.

I'm personally VERY glad that Jenna's submission was changed from Grief Counseling. She was very sweet with Michael in that episode, but her performance in the job was amazzzing. It really showcases her range - with her Dwight jokings, newfound confidence, jealousy, awkward talking heads and ending happiness. And that's not easy to do! I really hope she earns a nomination.

Yes, a very good switch. I'm still unsure though as to why the one hour finale ep can be used, but the one hour christmas one couldn't or something. I still think Steve Carell should be nominated for Benihana Christmas.

Same! She should win it simply for the final exhange with Jim. The tears, shock. It's all amazing!

Jenna's chances of winning has boosted big time with the change.

The Coup's a solid episode to go with. Dwight wearing the "LIAR" sign is one of my favorite moments.
