I've been reading about it for the past hour and yeah it does look amazing. It uses the multi-touch technology that I've seen demonstrated on the web a few months back.

I won't be able to afford a 500-600 dollar phone for a while, but when the price goes down, that sucker is mine. =)

And just when I got a video iPod for Christmas! Curse this bad timing! Oh well, when the price comes down, I'll have to get it.

I'm definately going to get one of these. I'm going to have to use my contacts to get one of these. Hey Brien instead of an office video ipod for the contest, an office packed iPhone would even be better? haha

That thing looks amazing. I don't really need something like that but it's still really cool.

This is one of those things I'll know I will always covet, but never own. *sigh* Maybe I'll quit college and use the money for that instead. (Kidding. Seriously. Alright, so I considered it for a second.)

yeah...that sounds like an awesome backup plan. I think that the phone is needed to do your absolute best in school. maybe you need it for a class? Or just want it so badly that you make up an excuse to have one!

I have a phone, it works, I can call people on it.
I have an IPod, it works, I can listen to music and watch videos on it.

I dont see what the big deal is.
Especially for $500.

I dont ever see myself browsing the internet or checking email on my phone. Do people really do that anyway? Anyone here do that?

Am I the only one who thinks Apple is building an evil empire, and this phone is just the next step? My iPod bit the dust and iTunes crashes my computer every other time I run it. Also, I don't see what the big deal is about having a phone that plays video on a widescreen. I use my phone to call people. I use my tv to watch television shows and movies. Maybe someone can explain it to me? I just don't get it.

When do we ever need anything like it though? I used to get along fine without a regular cell phone, but now...

I want one and I also wouldn't mind getting one of the Apple Televisions.

I couldnt agree more Catherine.

I guess its just Apples way of leaving the PC market.

Its all marketing, they make you believe that you need a product, then sell it to you.

Granted I love my Ipod, one of the best gadgets of my time.

This phone is a bit overboard though.

Apple is the anti-evil empire. I love my Mac so much more than any PC I have ever used. Macs are so much easier to use than PCs and it's been my experience that most people don't want to switch because they're afraid of trying something new.

"I also wouldn't mind getting one of the Apple Televisions"

Havent PCs had a cable for this for some time now?
My new Dell laptop connects to my tv perfectly, with one simple (not 500 dollar) cable.

Again, making you think you need something, then selling it to you.

buy a PC with Windows on it.
They allready have this stuff, only without the expensive Apple pricetag.

That little Apple logo must cost alot to print on all these products.

In my experience in the Photography / Advertising industy, most Mac users have no clue what they are doing. I guess the software is more "user friendly" but that doesnt make it better. Just because you dont want to take the time to learn the software, doesnt mean that Macs are better than PCs.

No matter what computer you use, its all the same.
Software is software, you turn your computer on, and it sits there.
The software or computer does nothing for you.

I dont know how many times I have heard that Macs are better for music/imaging/movie creating than PCs. Its all just software, the Macs have no edge whatsoever over PCs. If anything, PCs have an edge over Macs. Macs are way behind, they just recently started using a two button mouse, PCs have had that forever, they just started using Intel Pentium chips because they cant keep up with the speed of PCs, just two examples.

PS - I use the word "you" lightly here, im not directing it at anyone.

The great thing is that Apple creates/created most things that end up on PCs. Who had a mouse first?
Who created the pull down menu?

I have had much more trouble with PCs I have used than any Mac I have ever owned.

My PC has never had a problem.

It runs fast, virus free, and I can "right click"

How did you Mac users ever survive without "right click"

Its all on preference I guess.

That is what it comes down to. When I was in the market to buy a new laptop recently, the IT guys at my office told me I had to get a PC and that I wouldn't be happy with a Mac and that it would cost more. They had never used a Mac before, so I'm not quite sure what they were basing it on. When it was all said and done, I paid a little more for my Mac that a PC would have cost me. For me it's worth it.

Ya, they are a bit more expensive.
Gotta pay for all those ads with the young guy and old PC guy I guess, haha.

Im just a Windows fan I guess.
I dont need all the flashy desktop items and stuff.

If a Mac user is happy with their Mac, Im happy for them.
