Hey Donna, Ann enjoys going to a few Mariners' baseball games every season, and watching the game a little on TV. Mostly, she likes it when I point out the colorful nicknames and interesting quirks of the players. Right now, for the World Series, whenever Shane Victorino comes to bat, Ann will say "Here comes the "Flyin' Hawaiian." When Raul Ibanez, a former Mariner, appears, she howls "Rauuuuul"... like the crowd used to do in Seattle. She shares the same birthday with A-Rod, which used to be a good thing. (Not anymore. ) We emphasize the fun stuff, even if we have to make it up as we go along.
She does wish the players didn't feel the need to spit so much. |

Hey, KG! What does Eda do in advertising? I earned a "Certificate of Advertising" from the University Of Washington. I did real well in the creative department, but I didn't exactly "go to the head of the class" with the "business" side of things. I barely passed "Three Martini Client Lunch 101." (This li'l guy has a drunken shine on his face from a three martini lunch.)

Yep. You can't pass that up, true. There's a severe fine if you do.
Eda used to produce commercials, which is a tiring, constant affair. She gave that up when we got married because she didn't want to be away from home that much. Eda does all kinds of things but her main thing for awhile was to provide producers with director reels and info and stock footage; now she spends most of her day in a place called The Kitchen:

She really does a lot of things, which is great because they hand more and more jobs to you when people get let go. _________________ "You gotta get out there and EARN, son!"

KG, this looks really intriguing to me. I checked out all I could at that website; there isn't much to see, unless you're a client. I'd be interested in hearing more about her work. See if you can coax Eda into joining LITO, and have her start a thread! I'd check it out for sure! I recall from class that BBDO was one of the 800 pound gorillas of advertising. it was like, the uh... Office Tally of advertising!
So, your wife spends most of her time in the "Kitchen," huh? That's cool; unless she had a bad day, and then it would be like spending time in "Hell's Kitchen." What's that you say? That's only the one-millionth time she's heard that one? |

Yikes. Lol.... and I knew the name Office Tally could not go unspoken for long... lol...
Yeah, I forgot that there's not a lot on the Kitchen site for the casual viewer to look at. Won't hold my breath for Eda writing anything on here, though.. lol... She does a lot of pulling shots and stuff from all kinds of sources for animatics and "rips" as they call them, which are like temp commercials. And she's been work on programs like Final Cut and stuff like that. That will definitely be a good thing to know. _________________ "You gotta get out there and EARN, son!"

KG, I know all about "pouring shots," but nothing about "pulling shots." And I'd like to learn about the schematics of "animatics," and some tips on "rips." If you can get Eda to post something on LITO, I'll see to it that Donna digs up some Office booty that we can bestow upon her as our esteemed, uh... "Employee Of The Month."
If Office booty doesn't do it for her, then we'll find some crap prize for Eda... maybe a David Caruso bobblehead...
You already told us she's a huge "I Love Lucy" fan... how 'bout a case of "Vitamitavegamin?"

Do you have a game system for William yet? Wii or Xbox, whatever? If so, get him Biggs Baseball.
http://www.gamespot.com/wii/sports/thebigs/video/6173174/the-bigs-gameplay-movie-1
It's what hooked my boys on the sport. My husband likes sports but is not the kind of guy to sit around watching it at home. He's a fireman, so he reserves his sports watching for the days he's at the firehouse (depending on the kind of day their having sometimes they have down time for tv watching ~ 24 hr. shift and all/ plus it's the male bonding aspect and all that). Unless it's a big game, it's usually not on our tv. But my 6 year old got into the baseball game. It helped him understand the sport, know the teams, players, etc... Now he and his older brother play just about every day. I think I see Santa bringing Madden Football for Christmas this year as well. Brush up their football skills! _________________ "Sandals Jamaica Mon" |

It's especially odd to me because visiting http://just-once.net doesn't get the warning. I'm on a Mac, but I'm still hesitant to click on the link. But I want to read the CO!
Edit: Firefox gives me the same warning. _________________ Michael: Early worm gets the worm!

Joss, I got the same exact warning when I clicked on the link. However, in my zest to devour a new kgreene cold opening, I ill-advisedly threw caution the wind, ignored the ominous warning, and plunged full speed ahead to the possibly toxic website. That's how much I look forward to the work of kgreene.
Actually, this is the way it went down: I clicked on the link, read the warning, and it scared the bejeebers out of me. So I waited a few minutes, clicked on it again, and the warning went away. So I waited, and hit on it a third time. There was no more warning, plus I've got a virus-resistant Mac, not to mention the fact that ignoring warnings is just something that guys naturally do, so... rather than sit on my biscuit, I decided to risk it.
Really fun C/O, KG. I wonder if everybody got that warning? |

And thanks Bob, I'm glad you liked! |
I know they're mostly PC based, but with my luck I would get the virus to which Macs are susceptible. Rare as they are, crap like that just happens to me. _________________ Michael: Early worm gets the worm!

Huh...I got right in (twss). No problems or warnings when I clicked the link.
Another winner Kevin! I like the face that Michael would send out a memo to get his coworkers to hug him and that he's see no harm in doing so. So Michael! I also like that you threw in Meredith's lust for Jim. I'd forgotten about that. And that fact that Jim is now co-manager with Michael subjects him to all sorts of Michael related mishaps just like the one you perfectly described in your new C/O! And...liked the boob comparison reference. Something I wouldn't even think to put into a story, but there it is, and completely in character I might add. _________________ "Sandals Jamaica Mon" |
