Alright, I know a lot of people didn't like this second album by the killers, and I'm not quite sure why. Actually, every human I've talked to likes the album. just the reviewers didn't. Personally, it is one of my favorite albums. I think Flowers and Co. show a lyrical and musical maturity that, as amazing as Hot Fuss was, just wasn't there on the first album. They might be going in a different direction, but I don't think its as different as everyone makes it out to be. Anyone else have thoughts?

I've been listening to this album almost non-stop since it came out. I LOVE it! Favorite songs are probably Read My Mind and Reasons Unkown. I didn't get the lackluster reviews either, but I've never heard a Killers song that I didn't like, so maybe I'm biased.

I wasn't disappointed by it either, although I held off buying it because of the reviews. I heard a few songs on the radio and around town and liked them.

Much better than Snow Patrol's recent album (from May), and I loved the previous two.

I'm totally hooked on Read My Mind.

Sam's Town, Bones, and This River is Wild are also pretty cool ...

I think that history will eventually judge this album as great. I think Read My Mind is among the best songs ever written. I'm not exaggerating.

Eek.. I totally disagree. I absolutely loved Hot Fuss, and Sam's Town was a huge disappointment to me. I had such high expectations, and it really didn't even come close to meeting them. Confused

I love "When You Were Young," "Uncle Johnny," and "Bones." The rest of the songs were alright. In terms of lyrics, Sam's Town is more mature than Hot Fuss, but Hot Fuss had more of that pulsing, rock/slightly electronic pop beat to it, which I found very appealing. The sound of drums is more prominent in Sam's Town, and the whole thing gives off a different vibe.

That's why I was a bit disappointed with the new album, but I appreciate the fact that they came up with something different. The Killers are still one of my favourite bands. Maybe some of the other naysayers were just creeped out by Brandon's new mustache?

Also, Stuart Price/Jacques Lu Cont/Thin White Duke did a very good remix of "When You Were Young" that has an electronic vibe to it if anyone's interested. XD

Yeah review on allmusic.com wasnt that bad for them. I think HOt fuss was what they did to get famous and now they're settling in to what they actually want to do. After about 5 listen-throughs I decided i loved it

I didn't get Sam's Town, but I loved Hot Fuss. That was my nonstop record for about 4 months. I didn't care for When You Were Young too much but I really like Bones. (What's with the guys and their 70's SPAM POST star 'staches these days?)
