Article on NBC CEO Jeff Zucker

http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/2007/05/14/100008738/index.htm:

Quote:
At NBC’s “upfront” presentation to advertisers on May 14, Zucker says he expects NBC to unveil five new programs — three dramas, one comedy, and one reality show — for its fall schedule. Zucker and Reilly are considering stretching The Office to an hour and canceling the original Law & Order.

This is my dream, as much as it is Michael's to have 100 children!

No worries...agent Michael Scarn will take care of protecting the law and issuing order!

This could turn out to be a very very dissapointing rumor. My one question would be 'how would they have time to film an hour episode a week?' For Benihana, I thought I rememer hearing that it was 2 weeks of work. But then again, with allll the deleted scenes added in, every past episode probabley could have been an hour! Maybe we'll just be sacrificing bonus deleted scenes appearing online/DVD and the episodes will each seem a bit slower if not as much is edited out. Eeeks...I sound like Debbie Downer and now I'm not so sure how i feel about the hour idea...

"In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two seperate yet equally important groups. The Police who investigate crime. And the District Attorneys who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories." *sigh*....Can Agent Michael Scarn give me that^^? Razz
Let the record show that I have never liked the one hour Office all the time idea. Welcome to the dark side Jodi!

hahaha...thanks! Although I know that despite all those reasonable points in mind, I'd still be ridiculously excited if it actually happened! (although that feeling might die down after a few episodes).

I reeeeaaaaaalllllly hope this is true! I would love an hour of The Office every week! We'd probably still get deleted scenes, because they always need room to trim and edit. Very Happy

I haven't really watched much after Brisco (R.I.P., Jerry Orbach) left the show, but this still would make me sad...

Yeah, I liked Dennis Farina's character too, but not enough to get me to keep watching the show the way Jerry Orbach could.

Reply to your PS: No, but thank you. Very Happy <3 Zoolander

And Mugatu makes me laugh!

Law and Order should take Brandon Bird's advice to make the show more interesting:

haha...good, young sempai. Razz

I'm really just joking,(i highjack threads alll the time) carry on...

But also, I really trust Greg Daniels and the rest of the team to do what's best for the show. I know they always talk about how much they wish the show was longer than 22 minutes, but double that might be TOO much for every week. I truly feel that they'll make the best decision, since they always have in the past. I know that the article seems like it's Zucker's call, but he cannot force the Office team to issue longer episodes!

(eeks, can he?)

That's what makes me uneasy. Usually I am a trusting TV viewer but this time red flags are going off. It's alarming. I love this show but lets not mess with a good thing. I don't want us to be spoiled. It feels like the show could get stale and lame really fast. And the novelty will wear off and we will all just be a bunch of TV ingrates.
