Geez Louise, I forgot to unlock this topic after the show last night! Embarassed And I call myself a moderator!?! Sorry, fellow LITO-ites, I feel like an air-traffic controller asleep at his station. d'oh! I should be demoted, stripped of rank down to the "assistant to the moderator," except there's no on else that wants the job. Rolling Eyes Anyway, my apologies to anyone who tried to post an opinion on "Michael's Last Dundies."

Here's an observation of mine: At the beginning of the show, Stanley comes unglued at Michael Scott for knocking at his door early in the morning; he almost blows a gasket throwing him off his property. Later, at the end of the episode, Stanley is happily singing along with the gang on the "Seasons Of Michael" tribute song. My conclusion is that Stanley is a softie at heart; once he wakes up in a civilized manner, and has had his morning coffee, that sick bastard is an alright guy. Very Happy

That's my only problem with all the good will towards Michael. They have to be careful with it because we can't forget that Michael drives his people crazy and is pretty much a huge nuisance. I guess he's grown on them and they've become sort of immune to his dopiness but they can't make it into too much of a love-fest. It'll seem forced to me. I'm sure they'll find a way to balance it.

Wow. We have a new classic to add to the Best Office Cringe Moments. Erin's breakup with Gabe was beyond brutal. Just painful. The look on Jim's face said it all.

I liked this episode for the most part. There were some strange moments in it but Will Ferrell made me laugh. He's a welcome addition as he is a bit quirky as well. But we know he's leaving soon.Dwight's Dundies "acceptance" speech was funny and Erin kissing Michael was a good laugh. I liked it.

Now, what's this I hear about Jim Carrey being in the finale?

Wow. There's like 8 guest stars already. It'll be crazy. Boy, could you imagine if Jim Carrey was the regular boss? Oh my God, that would be INSANE. Oh, and there's one other tidbit in that article that made me go "Wha???". And I guess it ties into the last scene of this episode, if true. Can't stress "if true" enough.

Just finished watching the episode and reading the link Kevin found us. Wow! That would make sense why Toby was on his soapbox about a seemingly unrelated topic. It would be kinda cool if it was true. But then again, it would be very outlandish, and we like it better when our little show stays grounded. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

maybe, or it could be the "love-fest syndrome"(see Kev's explanation below).

I had many lol moments in this episode.
-Meredith's walk of shame
-Jim's best dad award & Pam being denied
-Dwight insisting on a photo of the "best parents"
-the sound machine at the dundies (Yello's Oh Yeah, ah Office memories!)
-Jim exiting Erin's car like he was on fire once the topic was revealed
-Ryan's "like crack" rant
-Michael's opening video with Jim, Angela and Phyllis impressions
-Gabe coming up to the microphone to "answer" Erin publicly.

All in all, good stuff. I liked the personalized song for Michael. But like Kevin, I felt it was reaching a bit...Still, it was a song from Rent, which I saw on Broadway when Taye Diggs was Benny & his now-wife Idina Menzel (sp?) was Maureen. I bought the sound track and played those CD's obsessively for many months after. So...the fact that they chose to parody "Seasons of Love" was a treat in itself for me. Smile

completely unrelated topic, but didn't Pam look so pretty in this episode?

That was a brilliant touch; Instead of doing the "right thing," we can always count on him to do the "Dwight thing."

Somebody wrote in to OfficeTally and complained "What a shame Pam couldn't be there for this episode; but at least Jenna Fischer was able to sub for her."... Think ... I didn't get that 'til now. Some viewers like their Pam good n' dowdy. Shame on you

really?!

I guess I can see that. Pam is such a iconic character, her uber-fans probably don't like to see too much change.

I would consider myself a Pam-fan, not necessarily with the an uber-fan. So therefore, I though it was ok that she looked real pretty. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I remember an Office fan friend of mine, who I would consider an uber-fan, mentioned that he was not a fan of fancy-new Beesley. When I asked why, he claimed it was because he liked her being quiet, reserved, a bit shy, unsure of herself. Too pretty, too aggressive Pam wasn't his forte. Maybe that's what the OT fans are thinking? Who knows...

Let's get Kevin's opinion on this. What do ya say, KG? Do you prefer "Fancy-New-Beesley," or the quiet, shy gal in the soft pink cardigan sweater? Which one shows up in your daydreams? Wink

On this topic I think that this must be pure speculation. I agree with Donna that this would be completely outlandish. I'm sure the writers will come up with a much better way to write Will Ferrell off the show. I would kind of prefer if he would stay, he seems to be a great addition to the cast and the perfect stand-in for Michael/Steve. I could be wrong though; I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Yes we will, Suri!
In less one day to be exact. Cool

Guys, can you believe this is the end of Michael Scott?
Truly boggles the mind!

I thought Will Ferrell gets one more episode after Steve's final one. I could be wrong about that though.
