Attention, everyone: Bob the (Acting) Administrator has completed his first duty: I have unlocked this thread. *
*OK, fantasy's over. In reality, I am still just Bob the Moderator.
Well, uh... that was a funny episode tonight! |

OK, here's an opinion: Last night's episode had the feel of a nice ensemble piece; everybody pitched in and made it enjoyable, despite the absence of a towering figure like Michael Scott. It reminds me of the 2001 Seattle Mariners baseball team; they won a major-league record 116 games, after their star player Alex Rodriguez jumped ship as a free agent. How 'bout that? A bunch of unsung, undervalued players came together, making up for the missing superstar, and had a great season. The same thing could very well happen with "The Office."*
*Of course, since that high-water mark of 2001, the Mariners stink. That could very well happen with "The Office," too. |

Very funny, and good, analogy, Bob. I spoke about utilizing the ensemble approach in my recap, as well. Oh, yeah. Recap up! Kevin out! _________________ "You gotta get out there and EARN, son!"

Kevin out. Bob in! And what a swell recap it is, sir! You brought up a really cool scene: Gabe confronting Andy in the conference room, with just ominous slivers of their faces visible in between the drawn venetian blinds. Ya gotta love a show that utilizes such ominous slivers.
How 'bout this deleted scene? Uh... cue the dramatic violins...

I have to agree that Kevin did a stupendous job recapping this week. Looks like I have some BIG shoes to fill for next weeks finale. (hey, Jo said it, not me)
How about that deleted scene Bob?? That was pretty telling. It looks like the new assistant can play the facial expression game just as well as our dear Pam can. Hands off Jordan, he's married. As much as we would all like to start our mornings off with a healthy bowl of Jim, that privilege is reserved for the one and only Mrs. Pamela Halpert; so the rest of us can only dream. *sigh* |

Thanks guys! And a big UH OH to that deleted scene. We've seen that look before from Pam and Karen Fillipelli. Jim Halpert has captivated another young lady! Let's see what MRS. Halpert has to say about that! _________________ "You gotta get out there and EARN, son!"

Never mind that, how 'bout that other obscure deleted scene? I'm talking about the one that takes place at Dwight's Coffee Corner, where Phyllis is flirting shamelessly with Hank, while Bob Vance seethes with jealousy over by the magazine rack. You could literally cut the tension with a plastic knife!*
*This is all a big, fat lie. I just made that up so that LITO could have an Office scoop. But this is real: The poster of the Dunder-Mifflin staff posed as the Georges Seurat pointellist masterpiece "Sunday Afternoon On The Island Of La Grande Jatte."

Dang, I love this show, and all the off-wall creativity that it generates. |

Here's a great line from this episode: Dwight has just spilled the beans to Jo Bennett about firing a gun in the office. He is in the middle of his mea culpa, saying stuff like "Do I wish the gun didn't go off? Yes..." Jo Bennett disgustedly interrupts, and scowls:"Dwight, stop asking yourself easy questions so that you look like a genius."
Politicians who are caught with their hands in various cookie jars always resort to this tactic when they are obviously stalling because they don't have anything substantial to say. Am I guilty of this rambling rhetoric myself? Yes, on occasion. Do I want to stop doing it? Absolutely. Will I? Probably not. |

Please don't ever stop your rambling rhetoric Bob, we'd all miss it way too much.
I loved that line from Jo as well. I really like all the dialogue that's written for the Jo Bennett character. It's always a special treat when Cathy Bates guest stars on the show. |

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing. So clever, these Office folk.
I wonder if you look closely you'll see that the picture is actually made up of millions of tiny dots? _________________ "Sandals Jamaica Mon" |

OK, now that we're on the subject of paintings made up of millions of tiny dots... check out this pointellist masterpiece from MOBA; the Museum Of Bad Art: http://www.museumofbadart.org/coll6/image08.php
Well, that was exhilarating, wasn't it? Now, in my official capacity as (Acting) LITO Thread Monitor, I feel it is my duty to steer this conversation back to the original topic, "Dwight K. Schrute, (Acting) Manager." Unless, of course, anyone wants to comment on the Museum Of Bad Art. Or... whatever. |

I feel I must comment on that art you linked us.
The really sad part is, that probably took the "artist" at least a few hours to complete. The really, really sad part is when an artist finally gets his work noticed by a museum, but it's the Museum of Bad Art. Now, that's a lose-lose! _________________ "Sandals Jamaica Mon" |

I showed this MOBA link to Ann, who is often more sensitively attuned to folks' feelings that I am. She said "How sad it is that these poor delusional 'artists' paint their little hearts out, and then they find their sincere creations posted on snarky websites like the Museum of Bad Art."
Ya know... ... How would I feel if "Scrantonicity" was inducted into the MOBOW? (Museum Of Bad Office Writing) Or, what if I found a bronze bust of myself in the "Bad Bartender's Hall Of Fame?" Dang, I hate it when Ann opens my eyes to humanity's insensitivity.
Having said that, there are some pretty funny entries in MOBA. |
